Last month, Mocha became our top seller. Newest among our flavors, it’s no wonder it has risen to the top so quickly - who doesn’t love chocolate?!

But there's something even better than chocolate: guilt-free chocolate.

Mocha customer review

Cusa’s Mocha Coffee has just two simple ingredients - 100% shade-grown, high-elevation Arabica coffee beans and pure, raw cacao. Ours is a Mocha without the muck - we left out the sugar, sweeteners, preservatives, cream and all the other stuff that makes Mocha make you think of dessert. Instead, we offer a blank slate of goodness that you can drink daily without worrying about over-indulging.

We do that because we want you to be able to enjoy the pure raw cacao by itself, if you please. Raw cacao has a long list of benefits, especially when consumed without added sugars, creams and less healthy ingredients. For instance, it's packed with superfood goodness, including antioxidants and neurotransmitters that help with wellbeing and happiness.

That doesn't mean it doesn't taste great when dressed up, too. Although we don’t put the cream and sugar in your coffee for you, don’t be afraid to do it yourself! All of our coffees taste great plain, or dressed up with your sweetener and cream of choice. Think Starbucks, but much cheaper!

Due to its popularity, we put together this list of how to make Mocha plain so it’s a guilt-free daily beverage, or decadent, so it’s a delicious occasional treat. Read through these basic how-to instructions, and pull out your favorite dairy or nut milk and stevia, honey, sugar or agave nectar, and find your own Mocha Magic!

MAKE IT ICED

When making Mocha iced, the important thing to know is that our Mocha is almost 50% pure raw cacao! You may know that chocolate doesn't melt in cold water or on ice cream, and the same logic applies with raw cacao. Unlike with most Cusa drinks, you will need to use some hot water to make the perfect Mocha. While you can mix it that way if in a pinch, we don’t recommend it. Thankfully, you don't need much hot water, and it doesn't need to be piping hot, either!

PLAIN: FOR DAILY DRINKING

Follow these simple steps to make a plain and simple iced Mocha you can drink all summer long without regret.

  1. Pour a Mocha packet into an empty glass.
  2. Add a splash of warm or hot water. You only need a bit! We recommend around 1 ounce.
  3. Swirl or stir until your Mocha is completely dissolved.
  4. Add ice and cold water.
  5. Sip, smile and enjoy!

EVEN MORE DECADENCE: FLAVORED WHIPPED CREAM!

If you want to make whipped cream from heavy whipping cream, follow these steps: In a chilled bowl, beat whipping cream for about 5 minutes, or until soft peaks form. If you want a bit more flavor, add sugar, honey or maple syrup and vanilla extract, bourbon or coconut rum to whipping cream before beating. Beat for about a minute longer if you’ve added liquid!
