As the year comes to a close, we reflect on where we’ve been and what we’ve accomplished. As a small business, it was another challenging yet rewarding year for us, and once again, we couldn’t have come to where we are today without our customers.
The story of this year has a lot still to do with last year. In early 2020, our business with retailers took a hit at the beginning of the pandemic, so we shifted quickly to focusing on our core customers - the everyday users we ship to on a day-to-day basis. That literally helped us to survive because our direct small customers kept us afloat. That decision turned out to be the best one we’ve made because in 2021 we have continued to grow and love learning about our new customers!
We’ve had some highs - four new flavors and three new TEAmmates! And, some lows - supply chain issues got us, too. But overall, we wouldn’t trade any of it because we have the best customers in the world!
One of our missions as a company is to offer a great workplace for our staff, and we have been able to grow without compromising on that. We expanded our small team in Boulder to five people this past year, for the first time since before the pandemic. You may have seen Austin, Lacey and Rie in social posts and emails - they kick butt everyday packing orders, shipping them out and helping with marketing. They are responsible for the little notes you see on your orders and the small perks you get inside!
We launched four delicious new flavors this year - Earl Grey, Jasmine Green Tea, Apple Spice Herbal Tea and Pumpkin Spice Coffee. It was wonderful to see what customers thought and to how much more popular Apple Spice was, in particular, than we even thought possible! We also introduced our Milk Frothers, a new glass mug design, some lip balms and those adorable Cusa Coozies you’ve been ordering like crazy!
